Dr. Mark Pecen

Dr. Mark Pecen is a distinguished technology executive specializing in research, standardization, intellectual property, and commercialization of advanced technologies. An alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and School of Engineering, he holds over 100 patents.

Dr. Mark Pecen’s achievements include foundational work on GSM, GPRS, and EDGE at ETSI and advancements in 3G UMTS and 4G-LTE at Motorola and BlackBerry. In 2015, he co-founded the ETSI Technical Committee Cyber, Working Group for Quantum Safe Cryptography. He chaired the Canadian task force on GDPR, led Quantum Valley Ideas Lab, and serves on over 20 advisory boards, investing in and advising technology companies.
